Paul Heyman Seigler, III, 77, husband of Sharon Falk Seigler, of St. Helena Island, SC, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1939 in Augusta, GA. and is the son of the late Paul Heyman Seigler Jr. and Virginia Bowles Seigler.
Paul was a faithful and revered employee of the International Paper Company for 38 years. He served our country in the U. S. Army Reserves for eight years. He was a former member of Elk’s Lodge 205 in Augusta, GA. and AMVETS Post 70 in Port Royal, SC. He was a member of St. Mary’s on the Hill Catholic Church for 51 years. He and his wife enjoyed their retirement years traveling and shag dancing. He loved the outdoors, particularly boating with his family. Paul was a past member of the CSRA Shag Club and a charter member of the Beaufort Shag Club.
Paul was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and mentor to many nieces and nephews. He was a man of Christian principle and an example to all.
Family members include: his wife, Sharon, two daughters, Holly S. Smith and Shea S. Burdette(Chad), three sisters, Virginia Hunt(Buel), Nellise Johnson and Gale Agee(Robert), and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and children, Jon Seigler and Kathleen Seigler.
Memorial service will be held on August 26th, at 11:00 am with a celebration of life held immediately following in the parish hall at St. Mary’s on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, GA., 30909.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th St., Port Royal, SC. 29935 or Hope Lodge, 269 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC., 29401.
