Joyce Anne Brown Emma, age 72, passed away Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 after an extended illness. She was born August 15, 1944, in Conway, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Brown and Annebelle Jordan Brown. She graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1962. Throughout her lifetime, Joyce enjoyed a career as a bookkeeper and real estate paralegal with the law firm of HARRIS and HANNA, P.A., as well as a bookkeeper for Grand Strand Junior Volleyball League. Joyce was a devoted mother of four; predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Michelle Jones, and survived by her husband, Joseph W. Emma, and her three children: Melissa McLain Decker, Allen F. McLain, III, James R. McLain, two sisters, Dana Elizabeth Brown, Vanessa Kay Brown, a brother, James Thomas Brown, and two stepdaughters, Leslie E. Mangigian and Laurie E. Gizzi. In addition, she is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Joyce had a strong love for genealogy, wherein she served as president of the Grand Strand Genealogy Club. Her true passion was the position she held as Madam Fru Fru of the infamous Glitter Sisters Party Production Company, and being able to make something beautiful out of nothing. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26th, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 2901 Fantasy Way, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The burial will be private.
