Robert “Bobby” Henry Davis Sr., 69, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

Born May 7, 1945 in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late Thomas Henry and Anne Bell Gardner Davis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Stallings. 

Bobby was the owner of Bobby’s Beach Music Center and for the past thirteen years worked at Sam’s Club in the photo lab. He was an accomplished drummer and traveled worldwide with the USO entertaining our troops. Bobby was a longtime friend of the late James Brown and played drums for him at the first Beach Music Awards held in Myrtle Beach. He enjoyed the friendships he made through AA, the YMCA, performing with “Classic Country” at Longbeard’s Bar and Grill and his 2004 Ford Thunderbird that he won in a contest sponsored by Macanudo Cigars. Bobby will be dearly missed by his many friends and his beloved family.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne S. Davis; children, Cheryl Jane Isley and Robert Henry Davis Jr.; brother, Thomas “Tom” William Davis and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Whitney Isley and Frank Lloyd Isley III and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
