Betty Irene Long, 59, of Carolina Lakes, died Sunday Nov. 17, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital. She was born April 13, 1943, in Parma, Mo., a daughter of Murrell I. Allen and the late Oscar Lee Allen. She was retired seamstress at the Mrytle Beach sewing Shop, where she was a former co-owner with her mother. She was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and recevied the Silver Beaver Award. She was a volunteer and shelter manager with the American Red Cross, a former Gaurdian Ad Litem with the state of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
