Tyler was one of the first friends I had when we moved to Myrtle Beach shortly before Hurricane Hazel hit MB.  He would come over after school (8th grade)  and my mother would fry sliced sweet potatoes.  Tyler had never tasted this delicacy, and we had a great time!  We lived in a rental house up near the Ocean Forest Hotel before we moved into our little abode on 28th avenue.

We remained friends throughout our MBHS days, through the Band days, etc.  I cannot remember if he was at our 20th reunion at JC Lilly's house in 1978, but I remember that Alex Herndon died in an accident the week after the Reunion and Tyler & JC died in that awful plane crash along with Jim Martin and (George?) Cooper off the coast of Virginia before the year of the year....1978.  Sad day for the Class of 1958.

I  think Tyler's plane went down November 24 or 25, 1978.
