Obituary for Michael Edwards

Conway...Michael Charles Edwards, Sr., 69, died Tuesday, August 26 in his home after a brief illness. He was born September 6, 1944 in Conway, SC, the only child of Charles Lewis Edwards and Eloise "Nudge" Vereen Edwards.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ellen Graham Edwards, his son, Dr. Michael Charles Edwards, Jr. (wife Amy) of Beaufort, SC, his daughter, Abigail Edwards Mishoe (husband James Earl) of Cary, NC, and grandchildren Juliet Edwards, Ellen Mishoe, Margaret Edwards, and James Mishoe IV.
Mr. Edwards was a graduate of Carlisle Military Academy after attending Myrtle Beach High School, Class of 1962. Mr. Edwards was raised in Garden City Beach SC. He lived in Conway until 1985 and then returned to Conway in 1999 upon retirement from GMAC after 32 years. Mr. Edwards then worked for several years as a mortgage lender at HCSB. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conway.

Mr. Edwards was an avid salt-water fisherman. He enjoyed reading and working in his yard. His most special time was time spent with his family.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Friday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Guffey officiating.

The family will receive friends in the church following the service.
The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Conway, 603 Elm Street, Conway, SC 29526.
