Is Not Due To The Stars
But To Oneself"

Faculty and staff are invited to honor the memory of John G. "Garry" Van Osdell, longtime member of

Towson's Department of History faculty.

Professor Van Osdell came to Towson in 1966 to teach American history. During the course of his 30+ year career, he served on the Academic Council and the University Senate, chairing the Retrenchment Committee in the days when such was a possibility. His wit and wisdom endeared him to faculty, staff and students. He lived his last 10 years in Spain, where he died in November 2011 of pneumonia.
