Annual Seahawk Holiday Buffet
Benefiting Hope House of Myrtle Beach

                                           

Every year the Seahawk Luncheon and the attending alumni of Myrtle Beach High School have a Holiday Buffet and sponsor a can food drive to help the homeless students at our alma mater. Each person is asked to bring can goods that will be turned over to Hope House of Myrtle Beach who will distribute them accordingly. Hope House has made it their mission to make sure these worthy students get the help they need during the school's holiday break as well as during the rest of the school year. The members of the Seahawk Luncheon have adopted Hope House as their charity of choice during the holiday season.

There are currently thirty (30) students at M.B.H.S. identified as homeless by the McKinney-Vento Act. Among them seven (7) are unaccompanied youth /independent students. Better than 100 more students from below poverty level income households are also served every day. These counts begin anew every August and grow throughout the school year.

 Can goods especially needed now include: fruit, potatoes. spaghetti sauce

 There is also a particular needed for both RECYCLED BAGS and CAN OPENERS.
